Technical Principle of Nitrogen Generators in the Fertilizer Industry

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generation equipment uses carbon molecular sieve as the adsorbent. Under certain pressure, it separates oxygen and nitrogen from the air based on their different diffusion rates in the pores of the carbon molecular sieve. Specifically, the carbon molecular sieve adsorbs oxygen much faster than nitrogen. A programmable logic controller (PLC) controls the opening and closing of multiple valves to achieve alternating cycles of two adsorption towers: pressurization for adsorption and depressurization for desorption. This process completes the separation of oxygen and nitrogen, producing nitrogen gas of the required purity for users.
